Iran, Land of four Seasons

Iran is one of the few countries that have all four distinguished seasons. And at any time of the year, in each section of the country, one of the four seasons is visible. Iran’s variety in terms of temperature, humidity and rainfall differs from place to place and season to season. Length of the seasons differs in different regions.
Spring (April to May) and fall (late September to late November) are probably the best seasons. In the spring, which the Persian New Year, Noruz, is concurrent with, climate is very pleasant all over the country and showers are common. In the high altitudes of the west and northwestern of the country, winter resists for a while but gradually fades away. On the other side of the country, in the south and on the coasts of Persian Gulf, it is the summer which restlessly tries to get dominant, and in less than a month makes the region’s inhabitants to run their precious air conditioners. It is in the Caspian Sea and its spectacular forests where you see a perfect and beautiful spring.
Summer (June to September) first arrives in the southern, eastern and central regions. Humidity of Persian Gulf makes the summer almost intolerable. Thanks to high mountain ranges of Zagros and Alborz, western, northwestern and northern sections experience a mild summer.
Autumn is somewhat similar to the spring .It is relatively short but extremely beautiful. Weather is pleasant and often rainy.
Western and northwestern parts of Iran experience a very harsh and snowy winter (December to march). But in other regions winter is mild and in Persian Gulf even pleasant for swimming.
Due to the variety of temperature, almost all kinds of fresh fruits and vegetables are available throughout the year. In fact using fresh vegetables is one of the main characteristics of Persian cuisine.
